Beejoux is first & foremost a selector. Inspired by her cosmopolitan upbringing across three continents, her sets are rich with varied sounds & textures, dismissing genre constraints and delivering sets that are stirring to the body and soul. She is of the opinion that a good DJ can play any and everything, and as such she is equally at home playing lounge sets in atmospheric venues or party sets in grimy, dingy clubs. Her musical style is soulful, fun, and ripe with attitude. She has rocked audiences across the globe in cities such as New York, London, Cologne, Oakland, Lagos, and Rotterdam.
After stints in various cities in Nigeria and the US, Beejoux is currently based in New York, her favorite city in the world for its indefatigable club culture. There, Beejoux hosts a monthly podcast on Netil Radio where she flexes her muscles as a tastemaker and a true music head, spinning her transcendent House sounds mixed in with Afro, Disco, Soul, Funk, UK House, Bass and Hip Hop. Expect to hear party hits from the 2000s mixed with soulful classics and the latest tracks from emerging artists.
Her sets are heavily influenced by fellow genre-bending DJs like Gilles Peterson, Bradley Zero, and the Black Madonna.
She is a member of 4 To The Floor, a collective of likeminded DJs and producers pushing dance culture to greater heights in London, Tokyo, and Johannesburg with their monthly parties. The collective has hosted distinguished DJs like Kay Suzuki, Osunlade, BoddhiSatva, and puts on a weekly show on Soho Radio.
Beejoux has opened for or played alongside renowned artists such as DJ Simbad, Henry Wu, and KC the Funkaholic. She has also interviewed renowned tastemaker Benji B for her podcast. Her main goal while DJing, beyond making you dance is leave you with an expanded mind and a feeling of profound joy.
